Tucked away at the end of a quiet backstreet, Felix brings the romance of Melbourne’s iconic laneway culture to the heart of Geelong’s central business district.
Housed in a former mechanics workshop, the space’s original timber trusses, arched windows, and pitched ceiling offered a rich architectural foundation—lending a sense of history and permanence. Embracing a pared-back design philosophy, Felix focuses on materiality and craftsmanship to create an environment that feels both grounded and refined.
Limewashed walls and walnut timber joinery infuse the interior with warmth and maturity, while aged brass accents introduce a layered patina and timeless character. Pendant lights, delicately adorned with dried floral arrangements, add a whimsical, sensory dimension. At the rear, a stone wall inspired by Palladian terrazzo provides a striking contrast to the muted, textural palette.
Special attention was given to cultivating intimacy within the expansive volume. Thoughtfully positioned leather banquette seating, wood wool acoustic paneling, and soft linen sheers work together to carve out secluded pockets—offering guests a sense of privacy and calm as they dine.
